How is the Minimum Potential Value calculated?

The Minimum Potential Value is calculated by taking the minimum required amount to declare an interest of £70,000 and calculating its current value if it was invested in a given stock at the time of declaration.
To calculate the current value of the investment we use a simple formula: (latest stock price - stock price when invested) % stock price when invested x 70,000
For example:

£70,000 was invested in Microsoft on 16th Dec 2015.

Price of Microsoft stock on 16th Dec 2015 is £56.13

Price of Microsoft stock today, 23rd Dec 2024, is £437

(£56.13 - £437) % £56.13 x £70,000 = £475,022

Minimum Potential Value on 23rd Dec 2024 = £475,022
